Check out how I made the year-long commitment and I was freaking out just before the coaching started: Week0 Tony Robbins Results Coaching: I’m freaking out
*****************
Hello friends this is Kate with Eyes on the Goal!
I just had my first Tony Robbins Results Coaching session and guess what!
It was quite underwhelming. If done right coaching provides space, coaching provides provocative sharp questions and this is on the level of basic coaching. No matter if you put the label “Tony Robbins”, “Consciousness coaching”, “Life coaching”, “I don’t know what coaching”, it works.
First of all, let’s drop this whole Tony Robbins hype. In his Netflix movie he’s also saying:
I’m not your guru
— Tony Robbins
I’m glad that at this moment for me the hype is gone. I see that what I am training now as a coach with Creative Consciousness already provides me 99% of the skills to be super effective. Now the one percent is TRUST. Trusting myself. I will get there!
What was the coaching session like? Ground rules
45 minutes is the first one. It is a bit longer so that me and my coach we got to know each other a bit. She set some ground rules:
- me calling her (at the appointed session time)
- being present in an environment with no disruptions
- having something to write on
So far nothing new. She warned me that at some moment I will want to quit. I can very much imagine it. It’s year-long coaching and although at the beginning it looks like:
I got this. It’s all under control. I can handle this
The power of coaching is when it slowly or sometimes very abruptly challenges you. The coach challenges you to cut your bullshit, to stand up for your greatness. This can be challenging.
This can force somebody to find all kinds of excuses to stop and to quit so that’s why I booked the whole year package. I put there the huge investment, I put the time so for me quitting is not an option.
Why coaching works?
What we did was look at my goals in the next three months. I realized I am the Eyes on the Goal person but still, my goals are not clear ☁ ☁ ☁
This was my goal number one: Become clear on my goals!
She gave me homework to write a table with all my options regarding employment, starting a coaching business, combining both. Anything that is possible for me at the moment and writing the pros and cons of each.
This is really standard, basic stuff but it’s a fact that I haven’t done it myself although it’s standard, basic stuff and I had to hire a Tony Robbins coach to ask me as homework to do. This just says a lot.
Oftentimes people know exactly what to do. You know exactly what to do, you’re just not doing it for … reasons. Coaching is about that: to put you on the spot, to get you to do the things that you know you want to do, you should do and they will work for you and keep you accountable on this.
So I’m going now to do my homework and I’ll let you know how It goes.

You are already a winner Kate, just the fact that you are reaching for more in the future than you have now separates you from all the more timid people who just let life happen. My generation didn’t have personal coaches as options, at least not outside the C-suite crowd. But some of us were lucky enough to have mentors at work who did a lot of coaching and it made a huge difference in my career to have been held accountable.

Thanks, Steveark!
Your comments mean a lot to me.
We live in different times, everything moves faster, information and resources are much more accessible. All it takes is a bit of resourcefulness and an open mind.
It’s fascinating to me to be able to make a difference in the lives of my clients and mentees 💃
